In a social media post about the new round of U.S. strikes in Iran that just ended, Vice President JD Vance argued that the United States had “honored” the cease-fire agreement with Iran — a memorandum of understanding, or M.O.U. — but would respond to Iranian aggression. “If they have disagreements about how the M.O.U. is being applied, they can pick up the phone,” he said. “But violence will be met with violence.”
