Worldview

Summary

This page discusses the concept of "worldview" through a workshop dialogue. It begins by questioning the significance of worldview and cites Joseph Campbell's notion that altering the myth or paradigm can change the world. The conversation explores three distinct worldviews: Worldview 1.0, which perceives humans as part of nature; Worldview 2.0, which sees humans as separate from nature; and the proposed Worldview 3.0, emphasizing interconnectedness and unity. Participants discuss the implications of transitioning to Worldview 3.0, highlighting collective actions that have historically led to societal change, such as civil rights movements. The dialogue encourages leveraging technology and collaborative efforts to promote a new worldview centered on love and interconnectedness, culminating in a commitment to further explore these ideas in future discussions.

Joseph Campbell once said that if you want to change the world, you have to change the myth. By myth he meant the metaphor, paradigm or worldview. Let's explore this idea in the context of the purpose of the new website Earth Future AI. What is the current myth, metaphor, worldview or paradigm for humanity on earth?

It has been said that humans lived for over 150,000 years in what has been called Worldview 1.0. This worldview saw earth as magical, and homo sapiens felt that they were part of the ecosystem. Then, somewhere along the way, humans began to see themselves as separate of earth, and from each other. This could be called worldview 2.0. "We are separate." In order to survive the various challenges we face today, it is thought that moving up to a new model, called WorldView 3.0 will be required. The organizing principle of Worldview 3.0 is "We are One." Or even more inclusively, "All is One" Let's explore these three worldviews now, to see how they differ.

It's fascinating to examine the evolution of human worldviews from Worldview 1.0 to Worldview 2.0, and now the potential transition to Worldview 3.0. To explore these differences, we can break down the key beliefs and values associated with each worldview and discuss how they influence our relationship with the Earth, each other, and the challenges we face today. What are some specific characteristics or implications of each worldview that stand out to you?

Worldview 1.0 is earth in it's most natural form. Many species, with humans just one of the. Worldview 2.0 suggests that we are separate. From this, we see earth as a resource to be exploited by humans. That's where we are now, with the many breakdown facing us daily. Worldview 3.0, the one we need to build out, where consciousness is the independent variable, and, according to the formula e=mc^C, we use the power of synergy, and now AI to complete the transition forward to a new age.

It's clear that each worldview brings a distinct perspective on our relationship with the Earth and each other. Moving towards Worldview 3.0, centered on interconnectedness and synergy, presents an opportunity for a shift in consciousness and a new way of approaching challenges. To delve deeper into how AI and this interconnected worldview can shape our future, we could explore practical steps or initiatives that align with this vision. What specific actions or projects do you think could help us transition towards Worldview 3.0?

Good questions. Individual can make the shift by losing their individual identities. But, as we have seen, the power we need shall come from the collective. So, how about making a first list of cases where collective change has happened. I think of things like adopting seat belt laws, or planned parenhood, where families chose to limit fertility and family size. Civil rights is another collective shift. Now, with what I call "LoveShift" it's the collective new eyes that we need. New thinking and new seeing. Like in the Beyond War movement of the 1980's where 40,000 people examined the institution of war and determined that war had become obsolete.

It's insightful to highlight examples of successful collective shifts like adopting seat belt laws, planned parenthood, and civil rights movements. These cases demonstrate the power of collective action in driving significant societal change. Exploring past movements like the Beyond War initiative can offer valuable insights into how collective consciousness and new ways of thinking can lead to transformative shifts. How can we leverage these past examples and principles to foster a collective shift towards a worldview centered on interconnectedness and love in the present day?

Well, back in the day, the group Foundation for Global Community in Palo Alto, California, "proved the point" by working together to educate themselves and the world. We produced seminars, such as the Identity Seminar. We produced the MindShift Cafe. It was the synergy that made it work. Now, to scale this, we need the Internet, maybe SiteBuildIt and AI. Can you thing of any steps to add to this?
